Christ is risen! Truly He is risen!
Beloved in Christ, on this most radiant day, the Church rejoices with unutterable joy, for the tomb is empty, the grave is vanquished, and death has been swallowed up in victory! Today, we celebrate not merely the passing of time, but the fulfillment of the promise that our Savior made: that He would rise on the third day, and through His rising, grant life to all who believe in Him.
Consider, beloved, the wonder of this day: the stone rolled away, the guards struck with awe, the angel proclaiming, “Why do you seek the living among the dead? He is not here, but has risen!” In that moment, creation itself exclaims: death is not the end, corruption is not eternal, and despair has been defeated. For Christ, the eternal Word, the Image of the unseen God, has taken upon Himself our human nature, and by His death has destroyed death, and by His rising has restored life.
Today, the whole cosmos sings with joy. The sun itself, which once witnessed the darkness of the Crucifixion, now shines in new splendor. Heaven and earth are joined in celebration, for the gates of Paradise, closed by sin, are opened once again by the power of the Resurrection. The faithful, baptized into this victory, rise with Christ, and are called to walk in the newness of life.
Let us, then, set aside all sorrow, all fear, and all despair. Let us embrace this day with hearts uplifted, for the tomb is empty, and the grave is powerless. Let us greet one another with the eternal Paschal greeting, “Christ is risen!”, not as a mere custom, but as a living truth that transforms our hearts and our lives.
O faithful, rejoice! Let us shine forth as children of the light. Let us love one another with the same selfless love that Christ showed for us on the Cross. Let us offer mercy, forgiveness, and peace, becoming witnesses to the Resurrection in every word, every deed, and every breath. For if Christ has risen, then we too shall rise; if He has conquered death, then hope is never lost; if He has opened the gates of life, then no darkness can ever prevail against us.
Christ is risen! Truly He is risen!
Let this joy fill our hearts, our homes, and our world. Today, and always, we live in the light of His Resurrection.
Amen.
