The Holy Synod of the Patriarchate of Bunyoro-Kitara Kingdom
The Holy Synod of the Patriarchate of Bunyoro-Kitara Kingdom joins the Royal Family, the people of Tooro, and the nation of Uganda in mourning the passing of His Majesty Omukama Oyo Nyimba Kabamba Iguru Rukidi IV, Omukama of Tooro Kingdom.
His Majesty’s passing at such a young age is a profound loss to the people he served and to the wider family of Uganda’s traditional kingdoms. Having ascended to the throne as a child and carried the responsibilities of the Crown for more than three decades, His Majesty’s life was inseparably connected with the history, identity, and aspirations of the Tooro people.
The Holy Synod recognizes with deep respect His Majesty’s dedication to his Kingdom, particularly his efforts on behalf of young people, education, community development, conservation, and the preservation of the cultural heritage of Tooro.
At this time of profound sorrow, we extend our prayers and condolences to the Royal Family, the Abatooro, the Kingdom’s institutions, and all Ugandans who mourn the loss of their Omukama.
We pray that God will grant strength and comfort to all who grieve, and that the traditions and institutions of Tooro Kingdom may continue to provide unity and hope to its people during this time of transition.
May the soul of His Majesty Omukama Oyo Nyimba Kabamba Iguru Rukidi IV rest in eternal peace.
