Bunyoro-Kitara Hero Day Omukama Chwa II Kabalega

From the Office of the Abuna, Catholicos, and Patriarch and the Holy Synod of the Patriarchate of Bunyoro – Kitara Kingdom

In the name of the Father of Lights, Our Master, Illuminator, and Savior, Jesus Christ, and the All-Holy Spirit, Amen.

Let us gather today to share remembrance and admiration for our esteemed King and hero, Omukama Chwa II Kabalega. His deeds live on in the history of the Kingdom and his virtues can be found today in the hearts of his descendants.

In the gravity of war and against many odds, a great victory over the British was achieved.  With wisdom, courage, and tenacity, as hallmarks of his leadership, he continued to lead his people, even into his exile.  He prudently shared his wisdom wherever he traveled, leaving a legacy still felt today.

The purpose of preserving the history and culture of the Kingdom Bunyoro–Kitara filled him with zeal and led to his striving diligence to return home even unto his death. His generosity of spirit and his willingness to sacrifice all for the preservation of his Kingdom must be remembered and emulated by those of us who esteem him, his Royal Descendants, and the country that he loved so dearly, and that is why today we remember and pray for his place in the Kingdom of Heaven,  may he live there as he did here, a hero. Memory Eternal!

Philippians

Finally, brethren, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is of good repute, if there is any excellence and if anything worthy of praise, dwell on these things.
