From the Office of the Abuna, Catholicos, and Patriarch and the Holy Synod of the Patriarchate of Bunyoro – Kitara Kingdom
In the name of the Father of Lights, Our Master, Illuminator, and Savior, Jesus Christ, and the All-Holy Spirit, Amen.
On this day, 09 June 2023, we are called to remember the Hero of the Kingdom of Bunyoro – Kitara, His Majesty, Omukama Chwa II Kabalega.
In the Rhōmaîoi Rite, which the Patriarchate of Bunyoro – Kitara Kingdom embraces, the monarch was the incarnation of the law; his power was considered immeasurable and divine in origin. He was the ultimate benefactor, caregiver, and savior of his people. He was the sole administrator and law-giver of the Holy Royal Palace and Oikoumene (commonwealth), with sole power over the state, the land, and his subjects, which he had achieved as king.
The Holy Scriptures, in Proverbs, gives us a series of emblems of a good king, which His Majesty, Omukama Chwa II Kabalega was:
Proverbs 29:
4 A just king setteth up the land: a covetous man shall destroy it.
7 The just taketh notice of the cause of the poor: the wicked is void of knowledge.
14 The king that judgeth the poor in truth, his throne shall be established for ever.
Let us all meditate on the regal qualities of His Majesty, and through our dedicated efforts, support the Royal Family and the various vehicles of the Kingdom Bunyoro – Kitara and its people, the Banyoro, which our kingdom’s hero, His Majesty, Omukama Chwa II Kabalega, ruled, served, and loved.
Amen.
In Christ and His Majesty, the Omukama’s Esteemed Service; your unworthy colleague,
+Cherubim Abu-Seifein Akiiki
